2016 Silverado Special Ops Concept
In military parlance, Special Operations, or Black Ops, are missions carried out by specially-trained soldiers like the Army’s Green Berets or the famous Navy SEALS. These are generally highly dangerous missions where if everything is successful nobody will ever hear about it. Chevy designers used these heroes and used them as the inspiration for the 2016 Silverado Special Ops concept truck. The design team took a 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 and added specialty paint, accessories and just about anything else that would give it a heroic, if not, sinister style. It is unclear if this will be a package that is available for sale from Chevrolet of Naperville, but the dealership’s aftermarket staff could help with some elements. (more…)

Release date for the 2016 Chevy Silverado
Chevrolet picked a very appropriate venue to show off the new 2016 Chevy Silverado, the State Fair of Texas. The raptly attentive audience was eager to learn about the new features and the release date for the 2016 Silverado, which will be during the winter of 2016. At first glance, the changes to the exterior of the new Silverado are pretty clear. The hood has a more sculpted look with LEDs to accentuate the truck’s muscular stance on the road as well as telegraph its incredible capabilities for hauling and towing. How much can you tow with a fifth-wheel on a Silverado?
Chevy trucks have one of the highest conventional towing ratings among all full-size pickup trucks in its class. However, there is a large segment of buyers that have greater towing needs than simply hooking a trailer up in the conventional manner. This level of capability requires a fifth-wheel set up and to have this option on a Chevy Silverado, a Chevrolet of Naperville customer will have to opt for either the Silverado 2500HD or 3500HD. Both versions of the award-winning Chevy Silverado offer the same engine options, however, the 3500HD version can be outfitted with either a single- or dual-rear wheel setup. (more…)
New features for the 2016 Silverado
A point we often try to make clear to those reading the Chevrolet of Naperville Blog is that pickup truck owners are among the most discerning and loyal buyers in the automotive industry. For a pickup truck, like the Chevy Silverado, to be successful year in and year out it has to continually improve. Even if that means making some pretty noticeable changes just two years after a complete redesign. The new features of the 2016 Silverado are designed to do exactly that. Chevy engineers and designers have stopped just short of a total overhaul, but there are still enough new additions to get existing and, potentially, new Chevy truck customers very excited. (more…)

You may be wondering what Proactive Alerts are and we are hear to explain them to you. (more…)
Chevy Silverado is better than the Ram Rebel
The latest advances made with the Chevy Silverado prove just how far ahead of the rest of the full-size pickup truck industry the 2015 Silverado actually is. There has been some rumblings from our friends over at Ram and its new trim, the 2015 Ram Rebel. Certainly, Ram’s new pickup has a lot going for it. However, it is still, arguably, behind what has been made available for the Chevy Silverado for at least the last two models years. If you are looking for reasons how the Chevy Silverado is better than the Ram Rebel, we have some of them right here.

Are there custom packages for Chevy heavy duty trucks?
In the latter portions of last fall and continuing through the winter, Chevrolet released a number of appearance and accessory packages for the 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500. This is an outstanding development for these customers. Each one of these packages, like the Silverado Black Out Edition, Rally Package or Silverado Custom Sport, gives the customer a chance to express themselves through the accessories on their truck. The problem is that, there are a couple of heavy duty models of the Silverado available.
